In almost all cultures, drums and percussion instruments play a central role in cultural, religious and social interactions. In some, particularly African and Middle Eastern societies, rhythm forms the base upon which musical compositions are built.
The Peimot Festival, hosted by the Confederation House, is a celebration of percussion - including the simple tambourine, the Arab darbouka, the Indian tabla, a variety of West African instruments and countless others from all over the world.

To those attending the Festival:
Confederation House is pleased to present its second festival devoted to the percussion instruments of various cultures.
Peimot Festival is a percussion celebration - encompassing the tambourine, the Arab darbouka, the Indian tabla, a variety of West African instruments and countless others from all over the world.
This year, alongside the finest drummers and percussionists from Israel and abroad, we are hosting US frame-drum virtuoso Glen Velez, who specializes in the rhythms and drumming techniques of southern Italy, southern India and northern Spain. Velez will also be teaching a master class for professional musicians.
